Key Constituency : Aonla

Aonla is one of the important constituencies of Uttar Pradesh state due to the reason that senior BJP leader Maneka Gandhi contested from here and won the seat.  She was the sitting MP from Pilibhit (2004), from where now her son Varun Gandhi is the sitting MP (2009).  Her main rivals were Dharmendra Kumar (SP) and Kunwar Sarvraj Singh of BSP and in total there were 13 candidates in the fray.
