Key Constituency : Amritsar

Amritsar is one of the important constituencies of Punjab state due to the reason that former cricketer and the BJP leader Navjot Singh Sidhu contested from here and won the election comfortably. His main fight was with Om Prakash Soni of Congress and in total there were 14 candidates in the fray. He was the sitting MP from this seat in the 2004 general elections too.
