Key Constituency : Baramati

Baramati is one of the important constituencies of the state of Maharashtra and a native constituency of the NCP chief Sharad Pawar, a prominent politician. In 2009 general election, he paved the way to his daughter Supriya Sule, who contested (Lok Sabha election for the first time) from this seat and got elected. Her main rival was Kanta Jaysingh of BJP and in total there were 17 candidates in the fray.
