Beed is one of the important constituencies of the state of Maharashtra due to the reason that BJP's National Vice President Gopinath Munde contested (Lok Sabha elections for the first time) from here and won the seat. His main rival was Ramesh Adaskar of NCP and in total there were 21 candidates in the fray.
