Key Constituency: Hassan

Hassan is one of the important parliamentary constituencies from the state of Karnataka due to the reason that former Prime Minsiter of India, JD(S) chief and convener of the Third Front Mr. H. D. Devegowda contested from here and won the seat again. His main rivals were H Hanume Gowda (BJP) and B Shivaramu (INC) and in total there were 15 candidates in the fray.
