Key Constituency : Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur is one of the important constituencies of the state of Jharkhand. In 2009 election, the sitting MP of 2004 general election S K Mahato contested from here and lost to BJP's senior leader and former chief Minister of Jharkand Arjun Munda. In addition, the candidates from BSP and Lok Janshakti Party were expected to influence the outcome of the elections and in total there were 25 candidates in the fray.
