Key Constituency : Jangipur

Jangipur is one of the important constituencies in the state of West Bengal due to the reason that senior congress leader Pranab Mukherjee contested from here and re-elected again. He was the sitting MP from this seat in 2004 general election. His main fight was with Mriganka Sekhar Bhattacharya of CPI(M) and in total there were 5 candidates in the fray.
