Key Constituency : Kanpur

Kanpur is one of the important parliamentary constituencies in the state of Uttar Pradesh due to the reason that senior Congress leader Shri Prakash Jaiswal contested from here and re-elected for the third term consecutively. His main rivals were Sukhda Mishra (BSP), Satish Mahana (BJP) and S M Agarwal (SP) and in total there were 18 candidates in the fray.
