Key Constituency : Vaishali

Vaishali is one of the important constituencies of the state of Bihar due to the reason that the senior RJD leader Raghubans Prasad Singh contested from here. He was also the sitting MP from this seat (2004 general election) and got re-elected from the same seat. In 2009 general election, he was contesting against Vijay Kumar Shukla of the JD (U), Shankar Mahto of BSP and Hind Kesari Yadav of Congress. In total there were 12 candidates in the fray.
