Rahul Gandhi was born on June 19, 1970 to Sonia Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. He is one of the upcoming new generation of politicians.
Rahul attended St.Stephen's College at Harvard University. Later, he obtained M. Phil degree from Cambridge University. He worked as a financial consultant in London before returning to India in 2002.
Initially, he was reluctant to join active politics and now, Rahul is a Member of Parliament from the Amethi parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
The 39-year-old politician was named General Secretary of the Congress party on September 24, 2007 in a move that’s widely seen as preparing the party for national elections and Rahul for the high office should the party win.
In the run up to the 15th Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi was one of the major crowd puller in Congress election rallies.
He won the elections from Amethi constituency with a comfortable margin. He was the MP from Amethi constituency in 2004 General Elections as well.
