Highlights of Scheduled General Elections 2009 for the15th Lok Sabha

10. Total no. of electors for the General Elections is about 714 million.

11. Out of 543 Parliamentary Constituencies, photo electoral roll will be used in 522 Parliamentary
Constituencies.

12. Photographs of 82% of electors are printed in the electoral rolls.

13. In General Election2009 there will be 8,28,804 polling stations in operation throughout India, an increase of
1,41,402 polling stations.

14. Elections to the different Assembly Constituencies in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Sikkim will follow the same Schedule as for the corresponding Parliamentary Constituencies of which these are the relevant assembly segments.
