30th Jan 2012>Brisk polling was witnessed in today's elections to the assembly of Punjab and the elections were by and large peaceful.Punjab registered voting at around 65 per cent. These estimates are based on initial reports from various constituencies in the state.

29th Jan 2012>As campaigning officially ended on Saturday evening for Monday's (January 30) election to Punjab's 117 assembly seats, the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance and main opposition Congress made confident claims to victory.

24th Dec. 2011: Schedule for the General Elections to the Legislative Assemblies of Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand was announced by the Election Commission today.

Total number of seats and resrved seats for Punjab are listed below:
