Results : Biennial Elections to the Council of States (Rajya Sabha) from Bihar: June 2010

17th June, 2010, There were Six contestants in the fray for the biennial elections of five Rajya Sabha seats from Bihar.

LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan, BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Janata Dal-United’s Upendra Kushwaha and R.C.P. Singh and RJD’s Ram Kripal Yadav have been elected to the Rajya Sabha after the counting of votes concluded.

Paswan got 39 votes, Rudy got 47 and JD-U’s R.C.P. Singh got 47, while his party colleague Upendra Kushwaha got 48 votes. RJD’s Ram Kirpal Yadav got 38 votes.

B.G. Uday, a Bangalore-based businessman nominated as the sixth candidate for the five seats, got only two votes.
