Bye Elections 2009 : Legislative assemblies of Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Meghalaya

July 16th 2009, The following programme has been approved by the Election Commission of India (ECI) for holding bye-elections to fill the casual vacancies in the State Legislative Assemblies of Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Meghalaya. After taking into consideration various factors like requirement of Forces, festivities, position of electoral rolls, etc., the Election Commission has decided to hold bye-elections to fill up the vacancies indicated below:
