Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh was formed on 1st November, 1956 under the States reorganisation scheme. It has 42 parliamentary constituencies. Its Population is 76,210,007 (as of 2001 census) and an area of 2,76,754 sq km which accounts for for 8.4 % of India's territory. The State has the longest coastline (972 km) among all the States in India.  Principal Languages spoken are Teulgu and Urdu.

Update: 24th Nov. 2010 Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Konijeti Rosaiah has submitted his resignation to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Wednesday afternoon. He announced his decision to quit is “due to advanced age”.

25th Nov. 2010, Sri Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy was Sworn as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
