Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh, as a state came into being on 1st November 1966 due to the reorganisation of the Punjab  state. Prior to  it, it had a Union Territory status. It is situated at the heart of Himalaya. Its area is 55,673 sq km and population of the state is 6,077,900. Languages spoken in the state are Hindi and Pahari. The state have four parliamentary constituencies.
