Manipur
Manipur is situated on the eastern frontier of India and has an international border on its east with the Myammar (Burma). After the Indian independence, Manipur was merged in to the Indian Union on October 15,1949 and gained a state status on the 21st January, 1972. Its population is 2,293,896 and area of the state is 22,327 sq km. There are two parliamentary constituencies from this state. The principal language of the state is Manipuri.
