PUDUCHERRY

Territory of Pondicherry comprises of the former French establishments Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam, which are scattered in south India. It merged with the Indian Union of 1st Nov 1950. It is situated on the east coast of Indian peninsula. It has a population of 974,345 and area of 480 sq km. It has one parliamentary constituency.

16th May 2011: Mr. N. Rangasamy of All India NR Congress was sworn in as Puducherry Chief Minister.
